In a report on NewDomain.net, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak clarified that his latest comments about the tech giant's new iPads were misconstrued. Wozniak said through his biographer Gina Smith in a series of emails that he was never a fan of the British press. Reports by the British press indicated that Wozniak was not a fan of the new iPads as the latter said it didn't fit his needs.
Wozniak said, "I never criticized the new iPads. I think they are fine. I don't think you have a choice between iPad models so that's just saying that the iPad is good ... that's a very different statement (and contrary to the implication) that, if I chose not to upgrade now, less than a year after my last upgrade, then I, Woz, am saying that the new Apple iPad is bad."
Apple experienced a 14% year-over-year decrease in iPad sales, selling only 14 million iPads. Although the much-anticipated launch of the new line of iPads would be coming soon, industry observers thought that it would not be enough to lift sales figures in the last quarter of the year. Morgan Stanley, for example, saw a 7% year-per-year drop on sales at 13 million.
