Boston Celtics forward Gerald Wallace incurred a torn meniscus after already battling with bone spurs in his ankles. Wallace would be required to undergo a surgery repair. He would meet with a team of doctors on Friday that would assess if a surgery would indeed push through. Meanwhile, the incident was expected to end the season career of the Celtics star, reported ESPN.
An MRI was scheduled last Thursday to assess the condition of Wallace. In the procedure, a tear was discovered that made his knees continue to swell. This was after winning game against Atlanta Hawks last Wednesday. Celtics coach Brad Stevens said that Wallace's meniscus tear could also end up in surgery.
Meanwhile, Danny Ainge, Celtics basketball operations President, said that the decision on whether Wallace would undergo surgery has not reached a final decision yet. Ainge also added that the 31 year old basketball veteran is thinking about playing despite the pain but Ainge also believes that Wallace would choose what the best is for him. If the surgery pushes through, this would be Wallace's first surgery in his entire career.
