By the end of this week, Phil Jackson would be in control of New York Knicks front office. This was after the legendary coach and the Knicks are finalizing a deal, said a league source.
The source said, "Everything is pretty much done. There are just some little things here and there that need to be worked out, but the Knicks are very confident that this is essentially done."
The source added that a final official statement would possibly come out by next week.
Speculations were going around that Jackson would only use the New York Knicks to get a higher job with another franchise. The franchise which speculations say Jackson is eyeing on is the Los Angeles Lakers.
Meanwhile, a source said that the Knicks were not afraid even if Jackson would leave them for another team. Jackson will take over the operations of the New York Knicks from Steve Mills, the team’s president and general manager. However, Mills would still be a part of the organization, said source.
