Mike Dunleavy, the Chicago Bulls forward, received an elbow to the face from Chandler Parsons of the Houston Rockets. The game was aired Thursday on nationally televised primetime. The contact occurred during the fast break of the second quarter. Dunleavy was taking a retreat to protect the rim and the five point lead of the Bulls. However, Parsons pushed a pace to get a layup which got the Bulls’ forward opening a gash. Parsons rocked Dunleavy just above his right eye.
Dunleavy immediately ran off court. Cameras caught that the 33 year-old forward’s eye was bleeding. Shortly after heading to the locker room, a public relations representative of the Chicago Bulls said that Dunleavy incurred a laceration over his right eye. This caused Mike Dunleavy to sit out of the remainder of the game. The forward player got 10 stitches due to the elbowing, reported Yahoo Sports.
The injury of Mike Dunleavy adds to the long list of injuries the Chicago Bulls had incurred in the last two seasons.
