Mickey Rooney died at age 93 in Westlake, Village California, reported the New York Times. The report was also confirmed by his son, Michael Joseph.

Rooney listed his name among the top ranked box office stars in the world when he was only 19 years old. This was after playing as Andy Hardy and has starred on Broadway when he was in his 60s.

The enthusiastic star stood a little more than five feet but his career has been remarkably taller. Rooney was a man of many talents including dancing, singing, acting, playing the drums and the piano. From 1937 to 1944, Rooney was also the most popular teenager in the United States after playing as Andy Hardy.

The owners of theaters in America had cast their votes placing Rooney on the No.1 spot for box-office star in 1939. In the same year, he was also nominated for an Oscar under the best actor category in his role in Babes in Arms where he worked with Judy Garland. In 1940, he was re-named box office king, taking the slot from Spencer Tracy. The same place was awarded to Rooney in 1941 with Clark Gable ranking second place.
