Kate O’Mara starred her best role in Dynasty, the 1980s hit TV soap. According to a report from Fox News, the actress died Sunday morning at the age of 74. O’Mara died after a short illness in a Southern England home for the aged. The news on her death was confirmed by her agent Phil Belfield.
Kate started her TV career in the 1960s as Cassandra Morrell in Dynasty. She played Alexis Colby’s sister but only played the role for a total of two seasons. O’Mara also starred in Doctor Who, the original series. She was also part of Howards’ Way, a BBC drama. She was also the co-star of Joanna Lumley in the 90s comedy show Absolutely Fabulous.
The British actress is best remembered in her role in Triangle, shot aboard on a North Sea Ferry. Her most recent appearance was in 2012 for Death in the Nile by Agatha Cristie.
