Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Tips and Tricks

By

Samsung Galaxy Note 3's successor, Galaxy Note 4, will reportedly be released this September. As for the Note 3, here are some tips and tricks to ensure excellent user experience.

1. Use it one handed

Due to the Galaxy Note 3's large size, it is challenging to use it with just one hand. To be able to use it with one hand, go to Settings > Controls > One handed Operation. You can then select to turn it on for the keyboard, calculator, unlock pattern, and many more. This will allow you to change some parts of the user interface to make it easier for you to reach parts of the screen. You can also choose the Use for all screens option, which will shrink the screen down and will allow you to resize and drag it to wherever you like.

2. Switch off the S-Pen window

Ever been irritated by the S-Pen window popping up? You can switch this off by heading to Settings > Control > S-Pen, and then choose the S-Pen detachment options. Select none, and when you remove the S-Pen from its dock, you will not have to see the S-Pen window pop up only for you to close it.

3. Multitasking

The Galaxy Note 3 takes full advantage of its screen size and allows you to multitask with two open applications at once. Samsung's multi window can be turned on by going to Settings > Device. This will allow you to press and hold the Back button to show a small tab on the left side of the screen. When you tap the tab, you will see a long selection of various applications that you can launch and drag onto the screen. You can also run the same application in two windows like email or the web browser. You can create your own customized combinations by pressing the grey arrow below the application list and selecting Create. Choose Edit to change the list of applications shown.
