2014 NBA Free Agency Predictions: Heat, Clippers, and Cavs, LeBron James's most likely destinations

By

After the Miami Heat fell short of winning a 3-peat in the finals against the Spurs, there have been a lot rumors surrounding LeBron James the past few days especially given the fact that the four-time MVP can exercise his free agency option this coming summer of the 2014 NBA free agency.

When he does choose to explore the free agency waters, their will surely be a frenzy of teams lining up to try and sell their offers to the King. But despite the immense interest, their are three teams that can offer James a comfortable deal and provide him with the roster and environment that he needs to compete for championships in seasons to come.

The Heat, Clippers, and Cavs have risen as the three most likely destinations for LeBron James this coming off-season.

Miami Heat

Despite the growing fear in Miami that James will look for a change in scenery after the Heat's humiliating defeat against the Spurs in the finals, a source with close knowledge to the situation reports that the perennial All-Star "is very likely" to stay in Miami.

The report reveals that James has no plans of repeating "The Decision" this time and that he has no plans of tarnishing his reputation again after working hard to regain it. LeBron believes that the Miami franchise can still make the necessary moves to win another title and bolting out while the team is still of championship caliber will only destroy the public image that he has carefully rebuilt.

Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James in a Cleveland uniform for the second time around? Why not. Although it may not sound like a realistic event for either side, a reunion with the Cavs could possibly cement LeBron James' legacy in the NBA. He was the hope of a Cleveland franchise hungry for an NBA title but he brought his talents to Miami, taking with him the hopes and dreams of the entire Cavalier basketball nation.

A reunion with Cleveland, therefore, would make a lot of sense for LeBron. He would be able to finally deliver the championship that he promised when the franchise drafter him as the number one pick and end his career in the near future without controversy and bitterness from his hometown. And when he does return to Cleveland, he will be playing alongside Kyrie Irving, another No.1 pick, and a very young and talented roster that can help James make a run for NBA championships for a lot of years to come.

L.A Clippers

The L.A Clippers became part of the mix of rumored teams that would interest LeBron in the free agency mainly because of Chris Paul and Doc Rivers. Paul is one of LeBron's close friends and shares a personal relationship with the Heat Star--he is the God Father of LeBron's son, Bryce. Doc Rivers is one of the best coaches in the NBA today making it appealing for LeBron to joing the Clippers with Doc on the helm.

But such a scenario would require a sign-and-trade deal involving Blake Griffin and possibly a few other players. But if the Clippers will make a run for LeBron James and James considers it a very interesting deal, then we could be seeing LeBron in a Clippers jersey this coming off-season.

So which of the three teams do you think will LeBron sign this coming 2014 NBA Free Agency?
