LeBron James, the biggest name in the 2014 NBA Free agency, will have plenty of suitors next week on July 1 when teams will have the chance to make their pitch to The King. The perennial all-star and back to back Finals MVP informed the Miami Heat that he will opt out with his current contract and become a free agent this summer.
Among the numerous teams who have booked their ticket to the LeBron sweepstakes, the Golden State Warriors are reported to be join the mix if they can successfully land super star power forward Kevin Love.
According to a radio interview with ESPN's Chad Ford, the Warriors are still very eager to make a sign-and-trade deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love and are confident that they will be able to lure LeBron James to the Bay Area if they successfully acquire the Timberwolves big man in this summer's free agency.
If this report is true, then arguably the best possible Big Three that James could form wouldn't be on the Bulls or the Rockets. It would be on the Warriors with a formidable trio of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Stephen Curry.
Ford also said that the three stars are "perfect complements" to each other. Well, its not hard to imagine the three of them playing effectively with each other in different pick and roll and pick and pop scenarios that would perhaps be just impossible to stop.
And while James, Love and Curry are three of the best offensive weapons in the NBA today when they have the ball in their hands, they are also just as lethal when playing off the ball too. It would surely be a great spectacle to watch.
The Warriors best move, for the time being, should be on creating enough salary cap room and try to see if they can get the attention of LeBron James when they successfully pair Kevin Love to star point guard Stephen Curry and defensive big man Andrew Bogut.
If LeBron shows some form of intrigue at the idea of playing for the Golden State Warriors next season, look for the Warriors to throw their off-limits stance on Klay Thompson out of the window in a blink of an eye.
However, acquiring love through a sig-and-trade deal and signing LeBron James afterwards is no easy task for the Warriors given the stiff competition for the two stars. But if James wants to win more championships and Kevin Love wants a piece of playoff action every season, then this would be the best scenario for the two super stars.
