"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" may be more about the actual housewives then their husbands, but that doesn't mean the men can't make it into the news now and again.
Back in May, Apollo Nida, the husband of "Real Housewives" star Phaedra Parks, was summoned to court and pled guilty to charges of mail fraud, wire fraud and bank fraud. Nida has yet to be sentenced, but the charges could result in up to thirty years of jail time and several million dollars' worth of fines- one of the victims of Nida's fraud was the U.S. government, which is bound to come with a big penalty.
Nida allegedly opened a fake debt collecting agency and a fake used car dealership, to collect money from car loans and payments that did not exist.
Nida was in the news again just this week. First, another "Real Housewives" husband, Peter Thomas (husband of Cynthia Bailey), confirmed that "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" would be spinning off into its own show about the Atlanta husbands. Thomas also mentioned: "I talk to Apollo every week. [He's doing] as well as someone who is getting ready to go to jail."
Things do not sound promising for Nida.
Now, Radar Online has come out with a report that claims, just days before Nida's sentencing date, his wife Parks has taken a vacation to Mexico. Nida claimed his wife went to Mexico to celebrate the birthday of singer (and previous "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino.
Parks' vacation can be seen in a series of photos uploaded to her Instagram page.
Nida continues to claim that his family life is just fine, and that his wife's trip just before his sentencing date will not impact their marriage. However, if he is to be sentenced to a lengthy stay of jail time, it may keep him from taking part in the planned "Real Housewives" husband spin-off.
