Will LeBron decide that its time to part ways with the Heat and Bosh and Wade whom he won 2 consecutive NBA titles with?
We may know the answers to such questions some time this week when LeBron James and Heat President Pat Riley meet each other face-to-face, sources confirmed Sunday night, to discuss the Heat's plans to bolster its roster. LeBron was frustrated with the Heat management when they let Mike Miller go because they wanted to save money. This time, LeBron wants to make sure that they spend every penny on key pieces that will help the team win more championships or he will be playing somewhere else.
Rich Paul, LeBron Jame's agent, made contact with several teams last week including LeBron's home town team the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets. James is also planning to meet with a handful of teams face-to-face some time this week. Reports from various sources also suggest that James is considering a reunion with the Cavs or a possible team-up with Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant in the L.A Lakers.
The fact that Rich Paul had been busy entertaining teams who are pursuing James and that the 2-time finals MVP intends to talk with several teams this week tells us that LeBron is ready to exercise his options as a free agent. If Riley fails to impress him in their face-to-face meeting, then look for James to head somewhere else where he feels that his future, in terms of winning championships for the rest of his career, is brighter.
James knows that the Heat wants him back badly. He also knows that other teams will do everything in their power to steal him away from the Heat. On top of that, he want's a max contract. If the Heat won't be able to offer him a max contract offer and a suitable roster that LeBron feels will help him win more championships, then he may be heading elsewhere.
