Recently released from a rehabilitation center, actor and comedian Tracy Morgan is suing Walmart over a limo bus accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 7. He was recently released from the rehabilitation center to continue his recovery at home. The "Saturday Night Live" star will undergo outpatient therapy to complete his recovery.

Morgan received critical injuries due to the crash, such as broken ribs, a broken nose, and a broken leg. The accident also left comedian James McNair, a fellow passenger, dead. Spokesperson Lewis Kay announced Morgan's release from the rehab center after the actor sued Walmart Stores Inc. He alleged that the Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer recognized or should have recognized Kevin Roper, its truck driver, did not comply with the federal regulations when it comes to driver fatigue.

The actor's spokesperson said in a statement, "He asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point. He would also appreciate some privacy during this crucial point in his recovery."

The actor filed the lawsuit on Thursday, July 10. The suit claims that Roper commuted from his home in Georgia to Walmart's distribution facility in Delaware before his work shift starts. The truck driver was reported to be awake for more than 24 hours before the tragic crash happened.

Prosecutors reported that Roper rear-ended the limo bus Morgan and his company were riding in. The actor's assistant Jeffrey Millea and fellow comedian Ardley Fuqua Jr. also in the crash were co-plaintiffs in the suit. Charged with homicide and assault-by-auto, the truck driver pleaded not guilty.

Walmart's statement posted by CNN described the crash as a "terrible tragedy" and that they wish fast and full recovery for the Morgan and those injured.

The Toronto Sun also reported Walmart will cooperate with the authorities in the ongoing investigation. "We're committed to doing the right thing for all involved," the company's statement said.
