Google released its Android 4.4.4 platform a few weeks ago and it has been trickling to other Nexus devices. These include the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. Despite the promise of fixes and improvements, the Android 4.4.4 update also appears to cause a range of problems including battery drain and connection problems.
According to Ecumenical News, owners reported experiencing random reboots, mobile data issues, email account syncing problems and overheating. There is also an evident battery draining issue when users upgraded from Android 4.4.3 to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
According to reports, one way to address the battery drain problem is to recalibrate the battery following update. Users can also work with battery-saving options or apps through Location Services and Wi-Fi. Turning off a number of these functions should help extend battery life.
As for mobile data loss, asking the network service provider for configuration of the APN settings or new ones can address the issue. Random reboots can be solved by switching the device to Safe Mode. This can show individuals what apps are corrupted and should be deleted from the system. Recovery Mode is also an option to reset the device to factory configurations.
Users should back up all important settings, personal files and other documents. Another reported problem for Nexus 5 is syncing email with the Corporate Exchange Server. Android has acknowledged the problem but has not addressed the issue officially. For a quick fix, tweaking the internal system of the corporate server can do the trick.
Nexus 5 is the latest flagship phone from Google. It comes with the following features:

- Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800

Google will reportedly be releasing the Nexus 6 soon.
