"Batman: Arkham Knight" News Update: Release Date Change, Ending Leaked Online? [Rumors]

By

Originally, it was thought that "Batman: Arkham Knight" would be released in late 2014. The game, the latest sequel in Rocksteady's "Batman: Arkham Franchise," follwing "Arkham Asylum," "Arkham City" and "Arkham Origins," is expected to be an enormous success for Rocksteady. Naturally, then, releasing the game as soon as possible would be in the company's best interests.

But according to a new report online, the game may be pushed back until 2015. Those at WonderCon this year have reported seeing a new trailer for the game, which ends with the date '2015.' With that in mind, a 2014 release date is probably an impossibility at this point.

What fans have been wondering about (besides the release date, that is), is the story behind "Arkham Knight." And according to Gameranx, the plot has just leaked online, giving away enormous story details and massive spoilers for the upcoming game.

However, Gameranx also calls into question the validity of the spoilers. According the their site, the latest details about "Arkham Knight" have all involved something called "Operation Savior," the codename for the plan enacted by the game's titular villain, the Arkham Knight. And according to the rumored spoilers, the words "Operation Savior" never show up.

Granted, it's still possible that the spoilers are valid, but they should probably be taken with a grain of salt. They can be read from a link at Gameranx, and while incredibly detailed, they also go to a few lengths that may seem a bit ridiculous.

Fans should also be excited about the Batmobile, which will finally be playable in the upcoming game. In an interview with Play Magazine, "Arkham Knight" producer Dax Ginn spilled a few new details about the upcoming Batmobile.

"We gave the task of programming the Batmobile to the guy who coded Batman. So, all of the experience that he's developed over Arkham Asylum and Arkham City in making a character in Batman, he was then tasked with doing the same with the Batmobile. Which, on the one-hand is really high risk, but on the other hand, it gives you a vehicle that's full of character and really intimately linked to Batman because Adam has been responsible for creating both of these things.

In hindsight, I think that was a really smart idea and it makes the Batmobile feel really unique in that respect, it doesn't just feel like a car, it feels like a genuine character."

Keep an eye out for "Arkham Knight" when the official release date is announced.
