It's time for fans to say goodbye to Atlantic City as "Boardwalk Empire" will be debuting its final season in the fall. Here are some of the things that we know so far about the September finale.

Michael K. Williams, who plays Chalky in the HBo mob crime drama, has been observed to be turning to social media to give hints on what's in store for fans in the final season of the show. Williams said in Instagram about a week ago, "I lost my name, my place, my baby girl."

"I lost everything there is to lose #CHALKYWHITE @boardwalk_empire_hbo #sept7th," the actor added.

In an interview with Den of Geek last June, Williams also revealed that the show's storyline in the final season would take place in the future, which, by calculation, the time when The Depression Era has started. Referring to his current image, the star said, "The storyline has jumped seven years [into the future], which is why I have the beard now. The Depression has set in. The days of the shiny shoes and fancy suits are long gone."

Williams added, "It ended very badly for Chalky last year. His family life is no more, and he is desperately seeking [Jeffrey Wright's] Dr. Narcisse to settle old scores."

Chalky's fate in the series might be in the same line as just about everyone's on the show. In the teaser trailer titled "One is the Loneliest Number" that HBO released for season six, we see Nucky Thompson (played by Steve Buscemi) looking at the oceans from the boardwalk. There are also appearances by Al Capone (Stephen Graham) and Nelson Van Alden (Michael Shannon). Eli Thompson (Shea Whigham), however, is nowhere to be seen. In another teaser titled "St. James Tease"), we see Chalky looking rugged without the sharp, ironed suit.

"Forgiveness for everyone, that's what Jesus said," a girl tells him.

He replies, "Baby girl, Jesus was wrong."

Terry Winter, the creator of the series, discussed how he and HBO have decided to end the series. He told the Hollywood Reporter, "After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we've decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion."

Season 5 of "Boardwalk Empire" will premiere on September 7, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT. The final season is considered among the shortest, which is composed of a grand total of eight episodes. Meanwhile, check out one of the haunting trailers below!
