We already know that the latest installment of the hit TV show "American Horror Story" is entitled as "Freak Show". According to E! News, the story of the 4th season of American Horror Story will focus on the few remaining freak shows during the 1950s, and it will be set in Jupiter, Florida. It will also reportedly tell a story about the misunderstanding between the freaks in such shows and the "evil forces" that would be haunting Jupiter. The latest season will also introduce us to a killer clown and a "bearded lady".
"All My Children" actor Finn Wittrock has recently joined the series, The Wrap, along with almost all of the cast members who have at least appeared on the previous "Coven" season. Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will lead the new season. As Entertainment Weekly described, 65 year-old Lange will be portraying the character of Elsa Mars, who has been described as a "German expatriate" who manages one of the last remaining freak shows. 39 year-old Paulson will be playing two characters named Bette and Dot Tattler. The Tattler sisters are conjoined twins, so it would be interesting how Paulson will portray them. 27 year-old Peters will play as Jimmy, the son of Kathy Bates' Ethel Darling character.
For those who fell in love with Marie Laveau in "Coven" will be so happy to know that the lovely Angela Bassett is back on the show. She will be playing the character of Desiree Durpee, who is also a freak show performer. Denis O'Hare and Emma Roberts are still reportedly in talks to join Lange's group of misfits, E! News said.
According to International Business Times, John Carroll Lynch would be the main villain for this season. Lynch will be playing the twisted evil clown. Lynch is known to fans in the spy drama series "The Americans".
Creator Ryan Murphy told EW what fans would be expecting in the new season. He said, "If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year. It's a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I'm very excited!"
