"Red Dead Redemption" was a smashing success for Rockstar Games, and you'd think they'd have started some kind of work on a sequel in the four years since the game was released.
And yet, nothing. No official word from Rockstar, no info about another "Red Dead," no hints that the game may be underway.
Except that now, "Red Dead Redemption 2" might just have been confirmed. MotorCrunch revealed that Feinstein, a senior engineer for Rockstar and creator of the "Max Payne" series, had confirmed that "Red Dead 2" is officially underway.
MotorCrunch added to their report that the "Red Dead" sequel may actually be a sequel to "Bully" or "Manhunt," two other Rockstar franchises that have gone far too long without a new sequel. But according to their reports, a sequel to either of those games "can only happen after Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out."
From there, KpopStarz added some new information to the story, claiming that "Red Dead Redemption 2" would have a release date in Fall 2015. The site also added a potential first image from the sequel, which can be seen above. According to KpopStarz, the potential release date might be in November, for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Hallels had a quote from Rockstar about the story, stating: "We don't always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won't get back to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series."
Their site also adds that a sequel will probably not be titled "Red Dead Redemption 2," as the original game was "Red Dead Revolver," and the sequel was "Red Dead Redemption." Chances are, a third game would be "Red Dead" and then an entirely new word.
Check back soon for more news on the next "Red Dead" game.
