Last week, ABC Family's newest sitcom "Young and Hungry" introduced Jesse McCartney as a nerdy computer geek named Cooper. E! Online said McCartney's character plays the love love interest of Gabi (Emily Osment). The two are supposedly co-workers and are not allowed to date by their boss Josh (Jonathan Sadowski).
In this week's episode, Cooper was set up on the double date with Gabi's best friend Sophia (Aimee Carrero) in order to hide the fact that he's dating Gabi.
Josh invited his newest employee Cooper and his supposed girlfriend on a double a double date with him and his girlfriend Caroline. What happened next was anything but perfect and believable. McCartney was a believable and adorable as geeky Cooper, who kept on repeating "I know this because we're dating" every time Sophia reveals something about herself during the date. On the other hand, Entertainment Weekly thinks that Josh was sarcastic about commenting about the two when he said "I just can't get over how great you two are together."
Gabi thought everything would go exactly as she planned, but she just realized that the break-up plan she devised that would happen during dinner will not go according to plan as her best friend has decided to remain friends with cool Caroline, who has New Zealander and Grammy awardee Lorde as her wedding ceremony guest.
On the other hand, EW deduced that McCartney's time in the show might be limited, despite the fact that he is very good with his role as Cooper.
"The worst part of the episode came with the realization that there probably won't be any more Jesse McCartney for a while. No word if McCartney will continue to be on Young and Hungry after his arc is over, but the show is doing really well," commented EW.
