When Season 2 of "Devious Maids" ended, it seemed like the final episode had automatically inducted the show to a third seasongiven the fact that it needs to tie several loose threads, including that deadly shootout during Rosie's (Dania Ramirez) and Spence's (Grant Show) wedding. Entertainment-focus went as far as concocted several possible story arcs that audiences might be looking forward to in the upcoming season if there's such season to be expected for, like Carmen finally getting her singing career on track, Spence and Rosie living happily ever after despite the fatal shooting, and even Valentina heading (Edy Gamen) to New York for a much-deserved vacation.
The show's beautiful cliffhanger had capped a season that was filled with so much drama and deceit that it was puzzling why Lifetime remained oh so quiet about announcing the show's third season.
It shouldn't be a surprise that show would be returning to television for another season, and who better to pledge her confidence to the show's probable return than cast member Roselyn Sanchez, who plays ambitious Carmen. The sexy actress told Fox News Latino in an interview that the Lifetime network should seriously consider picking up from where the show left off.
"Everyone is very positive, it's the highest rated show for Lifetime so they need it, we are super proud of it. All the networks are going crazy looking for the next Latino project. They first passed on a jewel, which was 'Devious Maids,' and now they all want something like 'Devious Maids,'" she said.
Aside from Sanchez, fellow cast mate Rebecca Wisocky is also hoping to get back to work on Season 3 of "Devious Maids." She said in a separate interview with Entertainmentwise, "Our fingers are crossed! We should know any day now. I don't want to spoil the finale for you, but I will say that the season leaves the Powells changed in a fundamental way. How they move forward from there will be a big question. As for what I personally want for Evelyn? I'll let Marc Cherry (show creator) point the way!"
