"Teen Wolf" season 4's latest episode, "Perishable," revealed the identity of the Benefactor amid plenty of other surprises for viewers, but leaves fans of the show hanging on what supernatural creature deputy Jordan Parrish is.
Among episode nine's highlights is the attempted assassination of Jordan Parrish, who has been revealed to be immortal if his survival from a burning car is taken as indicator. According to IB Times, Parrish walked "back to the Sheriff's station naked and covered in ashes."
There is no news yet on what kind of supernatural Parrish is and show creator Jeff Davis himself said that Parrish's supernatural denomination will not be revealed until season 5, shares Hollywood Life. However, speculations are already in, and the article thinks that the deputy could be a phoenix. According to the article, hints had been made that Parrish was supernatural from the moment he arrived, with him saying that he felt "drawn" to Beacon Hills. Initial guesses placed him to be a banshee, but with the deputy "naked and covered in ash," Hollywood Life says the guess of Parrish being a phoenix has increased.
Show lead actor Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall, also noted that the promo for the fourth season "has the cast rising from the ashes." However, all speculations draw on him surviving a burning car, and Hollywood Life points out that aside from phoenixes, dragons can also survive fires. With Davis the only one knowing what creature Parrish is, a dragon could be as likely.
"Perishable" also delved deeper into the history of Lydia's grandmother who, according to her, worked for the IBM and created the cypher key. "Lorraine used to work for IBM when she started hearing ringing, rain and thunder that wouldn't stop despite the sky being completely clear. Finally she started screaming, a trademark of a banshee," IBM's article adds. The article also states that Lorraine finding her best friend's body days later started getting her into the occult until eventually she found another banshee.
As for the identity of the Benefactor, IB Times reveals that it is Meredith. MTV describes the Benefactor as "a shadowy mob boss who's been sending assassins after werewolves, kitsunes and every non-human being in Beacon Hills."
Despite this, the actor who plays Meredith, Maya Eshet, says that the "meek, twitchy Meredith" is "trying to do good." According to Eshet, Meredith is confused and "has no idea of what would help the world, and that's what she's trying to do." Eshet is apparently hoping for Meredith to change ways.
