As opposed to previous reports that "Jedi Hunters" will be the main villain for "Star Wars: Episode VII," recent reports claim that it will be a "Sith Inquisitor." According to a report by IndieRevolver, this new villain is a cyborg with a "metal jaw and glowing red eyes."
Known to players of the franchise's games, the Sith Inquisition is an organization working for the Sith empire.
While the producers of the film have not confirmed the details yet, this report falls under the list of the many rumors surrounding the plot of the highly anticipated big screen comeback of "Star Wars: Episode VII." If the report is true, the Sith Inquisitor will have to fill the shows of the iconic villain, Darth Vader.
While the events in the upcoming sequel will take place 30 years after the original trilogy, previous reports claim that the movie will also feature some flashbacks. These flashbacks could possibly explain the connection of the Sith Inquisition with the Empire as well as their part in the rise of Darth Vader.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the upcoming movie will use more practical effects and less CGI (computer-generated images.) Director Rian Johnson ("Looper,") who is said to pick up the franchise after JJ Abrams, talked about the reliance on CGI and how his new project, "Star Wars," will be bucking the trend.
"They're doing so much practical building for this one. It's awesome," said Johnson. "It feels like there is sort of that gravity pulling us back toward it," the director went on describing how people are starting to resort to traditional, practical effects.
Johnson used actions scenes as examples, saying people in the movie industry come to point where the action becomes big and quick that physics "go out the window"
Meanwhile, Johnson remains mum about his involvement in Episodes VIII and IX of "Star Wars." It was earlier announced that he will be penning and directing the sequels. The director only said he finds it boring to talk about it because, "I'm just happy."
"Star Wars" 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
