“Friends” Reunion is Not Happening, Show Creator Marta Kaufmann Debunk Rumors Saying “The Show is Over”

Rumors about the 90s hit series "Friends" getting a reunion show has been going on and off for the past years now and 2014 doesn't seem to be different. According to recent news, the show will reunite Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer come Thanksgiving this year.

Rumors exploded after a fan made poster titled "The One After the 10 Year Break" circulated the internet. This was followed by news claiming that the reunion will be in time for the 10th year anniversary of the show this year and that NBC has given the green light for the production, Kpopstarz reports.

Unfortunately, both the stars and creators of the show were quick to debunk the rumors. In fact, they were all adamant in saying that a movie or even a spin-off of the show is impossible. FranchiseHerald.com quotes what Jennifer Aniston said about the case back in 2012 where she quipped: "I can't imagine what that would be. It's not normal. 'Friends' is in your living room; 'Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self."

Show creator Marta Kaufmann adds to this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly where she said that the show is really over. "We always knew and felt very strongly that not only would it never happen, we never wanted to be part of that, because it so rarely works. We just felt like this show is about a certain time in your life, and once you're past that time in your life, the show is over."

Courtney Cox who plays Monica Geller on the sitcom also comments with humor about the possibility of a reunion. During an interview with David Letterman, she expressed that she can't even gather the six for a dinner together.

"Let me tell you something: there's six friends and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for 10 years. It doesn't happen." "I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry. Matt LeBlanc canceled the last time right at the last minute, Schwimmer lives here (in New York City), so it's just not gonna happen," Hallels.com quoted her saying.

Sorry guys and gals, but it seems like a reunion is still a far way to go.
