Goodbye Paula Patton! Robin Thicke Finally Moves on with Katie Holmes

By

A split and a flopped album later, Robin Thicke is finally ready to move on romantically. His newest amour? No other than former Mrs. Cruise herself, Katie Holmes.

After trying everything to win back the affections of estranged wife Paula Patton after he was caught cheating, the "Blurred Lines" singer is finally ready to move past this chapter in his life-which included dedicating a whole album to her ex to woo her back-and try dating again, Inquistr.com reports.

An anonymous source spilled to New Idea (via Entertainment.msn) that Katie dropped the singer an email to check up on him, after "knowing he was going through divorce hell." The singer was supposedly so happy to hear from the actress that the two of them even arranged to have a date in New York after his tour ends this month.

The insider further shares that even though the two are not officially together yet, this possible new hook-up is well supported by everyone on both teams. "Everyone's encouraging this as they have so much in common and if anyone can get him over Paula, it's Katie."

Ironically, the two met before through their past spouses as well. The pair were first introduced to each other while on the set of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol when ex-partners Tom Cruise and Paula Patton were shooting scenes together. They apparently bonded more because of their children with Katie offering Robin invaluable advice on how to look after a new baby back then.

This news is probably the best thing that has ever happened to Robin Thicke after the singer's not so good chain of life events events. After his much criticized performance with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs and his split with his wife, the singer who named his album "Paula" topped the "Top 10 album flops of 2014" after selling merely 30,000 copies in the U.S., Kpopstarz reports.

However, this possible new relationship with Katie Holmes left some thinking if the artist has finally really moved on especially after he subtly expressed hope in his past relationship in a recent Hot 97 interview. In the radio program, Thicke talked about how he and Paula were temporarily apart because of their personal changes.

"If you've been together that long, you kinda became adults together instead of being adults and then meeting. But maybe a year or two off, we'll become our own people without each other and then it will be meant to be."
