"American Horror Story" is set to debut its fourth season. Following the series of promotional posters circulating on the Internet, FX unveiled its latest full-length video to tease fans about the characters in the series, Vulture reported.
The official description of the Primetime Emmy Award winning show for Outstanding Miniseries, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter, reads, "This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amid the dying world of the American carnie experience."
Jessica Lange, who plays Elsa Mars, owner and manager of one of the last freak shows in the US in the 1950s, stars on the said video. Elsa is said to be a German expatriate who manages a whole show of freaks in Jupiter, Florida. The teaser also features performers on Elsa's shows, including Sarah Paulson as Bette and Dot Tattler, who are conjoined twins with two heads, and Kathy Bates as bearded lady Efill Darling. Angela Bassett's role in the series has been defined in the video as Desiree, a three-breasted woman. Evan Peters, seen caressing a blonde woman who may or may not be co-star and reallife fiance Emma Roberts, plays Efil's son who has a claw-like hand.
Frances Conroy, Michael Chiklis, Patti LaBelle, Denis O'Hare, the world's smallest woman, Jyoti Amge, Wes Bentley and"The Normal Heart" stars Finn Wittrock and Matt Bomer are also in the new season. John Carroll Lynch will be completing the casting as the main villain in "Freak Show."
In an interview with E!, Paulson joked about her dual roles as she said that it needed more effort than the others. "It's exhausting because it's twice the work. It really is. I should be getting two salaries."
"Freak Show" is currently among the most talked-about American television shows after its first three successful seasons ("Coven," "Asylum" and "Murder House"). The horror television series are being helmed by showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on October 8 only on FX Network.
