'Batman: Arkham Knight' release date gets pushed back; Microsoft leak confirms February 24, 2015 schedule

The release date of the latest and final installment of Rocksteady Studios' Arkham series, "Batman: Arkham Knight," was reportedly pushed back to 2015. In June this year, the new teaser for the Batmobile was released by Rocksteady and indicated in the end of the video that the game would be coming instead in 2015 instead of the previous announcement, where it was said that it would be initially be released this fall.

Rocksteady Marketing Game Manager Guy Perkins explained why the game was delayed in this interview with Gamespot. Perkins simply says that Rocksteady needs more time to polish the game more and said, "We want to make sure we're absolutely nailing it 100%."

Director Sefton Hill told GamesTM was more articulate with the reasons for the delay of the release of the "Arkham Knight" installment. He told the site, "We've always had the philosophy that little details are what makes a game truly immersive. I think that's one of the strengths of our earlier games. We've finally got the chance to show what the whole of Gotham City looks like in the Arkhamverse, and it's huge: full of massive skyscrapers, dark grimy alleyways and glaring neon. And rain - we've spent a lot of time making the rain feel just right! The sun hardly ever shines in Gotham, and switching to new-gen consoles has made it possible for us to bring that unique atmosphere to life in a way that hasn't been done before in gaming."

Although fans have to wait a little bit more to play the game, the official launch date for Batman: Arkham Knight was accidentally leaked by Microsoft in their game listing page. It has been observed that the information had since been taken down. The game was listed to be release on February 24, 2015 on XBOX One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

At the same time PlayStation also listed the game on their website and revealed an exclusive DLC for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. The exclusive DLC includes a special battle where you face off against a Giant Scarecrow and an undead army on the streets of Gotham.
