"Fast & Furious 7" has been in production for years, set back by delays following the untimely death of star Paul Walker, and then by the debates that followed. How exactly would they handle Walker's death? How could they continue with a film he was supposed to star in, and still give him a fitting send-off?
Enstars reports that, initially, Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, would be killed in a car crash in the upcoming film. But that seems a little too close to what happened in real life (and maybe a little less than respectful).
Now, they're claiming that the car crash death scene has been scrapped, and Walker will be retired with a much happier ending. It's probably for the best- seeing Walker perish on-screen would leave a terrible taste in an audiences' mouth.
Christian Post adds to the story, claiming that Walker's brothers, Cody and Caleb, have been hired as body doubles so director James Wan could finish shooting Walker's scenes.
Enstars adds that Cody has also been cast as a new character in "Fast & Furious 8," which might be a little bit confusing, depending on how much of him we see in number 7. If we never actually see his face, he should be ok.
It's a sad experience all around, but hopefully "Fast & Furious 7" honors Walker's memory.
According to a separate piece in Enstars, it's been tough for co-star Vin Diesel to cope with his friend's passing. But exercise always helps, and to that extent, he's been training himself raw for "F&F7." A photo posted to the actor's Facebook page (seen above) shows him working some serious muscle with co-star Tony Jaa.
So at least we know there will be some epic stunts in the next "Fast & Furious."
