It seems like the fans of "The Young and the Restless" are in for a treat as Meredith Baxter's character is set to return to the fictional city of Genoa. Her return as Maureen in the series have fans expecting for her to bring in intrigue and tension.

Maureen's return to Genoa is said to be innocent enough, as she wants to pay a visit to her children, Stitch (Sean Carrigan) and Kelly (Cady McClain). According to Hollywood News Daily, Maureen actually has a motive to return to Genoa aside from the parental visit. It is believed that she is looking to stir trouble as she will get Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) involved into her alcohol addiction.

And it looks like drinking is not the only thing that Maureen and Nikki will be sharing in common. There have been news circulating that the two women might share a grandchild too. Abby (Melissa Ordway), Nikki's daughter, is apparently carrying Stitch's baby. Celebrity Dirty Laundry shared that Stitch maybe in over his head as Abby will be continuously harassing him over the baby news. In addition, he will need to deal with the return of his mother, of which sources at the gossip rag said may also seek revenge for the death of her husband. Maureen's husband was killed by Stitch - a crime he has openly denied to committing.

Maureen's return to Genoa City spells trouble not only to Nikki, but to her children as well, and it would be interesting to watch as to what Maureen's plans are for her children. Examiner said that this turn of events in "Young and the Restless" pays homage to the true drama soap, as both Kelly and Stitch are caught up with far too many stresses of their own. The site said Maureen's visit is especially difficult for Kelly, as she is still currently worried over Jack's (Peter Bergman) recollection about his ex-wife, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).
