"Castle" season seven will return with a focus on who was behind Castle's accident before the wedding. As for whether that wedding will happen this season, executive producers are keeping things under wraps, but have promised that "Caskett" will get married eventually.
"Castle" season 6 ended with a surprising cliffhanger, causing strong reactions from fans about the delayed wedding for Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). According to Christian Post, show creator Andrew Marlowe even admitted that the fans were not satisfied with how the season ended. However, he acknowledged that the show "owed" the fans a wedding, which new showrunner David Amann said could possibly happen in the upcoming season in an interview with TV Guide.
While Christian Post says that the channel is remaining tight-lipped about the wedding, the article thinks that the wedding will eventually happen in season 7, possibly before the year is over. However, it will not be something immediate, as Breathe Cast has Marlowe saying that the couple needs to iron out some things first. "The story might go off course in terms of their marriage for a while," says the article.
Though the fate of Castle and Beckett's wedding remains in the dark, the plot for season seven is not. The show will allegedly focus on the people or group who attacked Castle and left his car on fire and fans wondering if he is dead. According to IB Times, Amann said that fans will be treated to some answers after the second episode. Amann also mentioned that the resolution will be enough "that the characters can move and get back to life as they knew it." However, this will not undo the effects of Castle's accident, which Amann said will "re-emerge and reassert themselves later in the season."
According to Breathe Cast, the first episode of season 7 will be titled "Driven" and will pick up from where season 6 ended. In the finale, Beckett found Castle's burning car, but season 7 will show Castle not in the destroyed vehicle. The revelation will be "relieving and shocking" for Beckett, says the article.
Christian Post also thinks that a new villain can be introduced, though the serial killer codenamed 3XK may make a comeback.
"Castle" will be back on ABC for its seventh season on Monday, September 29.
