Fans of the "Divergent" series express dislike for a possible love-triangle for Tris, Four, and a rumored new character to be played by Johnny Weston. Talks of a "Divergent" spin-off movie may also require recasting Four.
According to Breathe Cast, Jonny Weston has allegedly been cast to play the role of Edgar in the film. This Edgar will allegedly be a threat to "Fourtris". The article also says that the fans of the series of books disapproved of the alleged addition of a love triangle in the movie.
"Divergent" is known for deviating in the "love triangle trend in teen-oriented films and books." Breathe Cast says that this makes the story unique. It would make sense that fans disagree with the addition of a possible love triangle.
Author Veronica Roth had allegedly denied the rumors, saying that the screenwriters for "Insurgent" will not twist the relationship. Furthermore, the filming in Atlanta has already wrapped up, as reported by Enstarz. The stars have gone to a wrap party in celebration, as evidenced by a Twitter photo of Shailene Woodley and Jai Courney courtesy of user @TheShailers.
Actor Keiynan Lonsdale, who will be portraying Uriah, was also snapped with Callie Brook McClincy. McClincy captioned the Twitter post: "And that's a wrap for me and @KieynanLonsdale, the sweetest and cutest guy on set! Thankful to have met him!"
"Insurgent" will be heading to theaters March 21, 2015. The first part of "Allegiant" is slated for a March 18, 2016 premiere date. Christian Post reports that "Divergent" direction Neil Burger has been replaced with Robert Schwentke, but Burger remains an executive producer.
After the movie franchise wraps with "Allegiant Part 2," the rumored spin-off involving Theo James's character Four will apparently be in the works. According to Enstarz, the spin-off would primarily follow Four. However, the article thinks that a recast could be in the works if this project comes to fruition, as James is already 30 years old and the franchise is only in its second movie.
Enstarz says: "With the character being a 16-year-old, it may cause a problem for the 30-year-old James to play a younger version of Four, even though he will have played him for four movies."
