Cable subscription channel HBO already has its shows line up this coming fall, with a number of favorite shows returning on the small screen, Enstars reports.
The last season of crime period drama "Boardwalk Empire" premiered on Sunday, September 7 and will continue airing through the fall season. The series will air its eighth and last episode on October 26. HBO created a nine minute video that summarizes the previous season. According to spoilers, the upcoming season features flashbacks and potentially a death of a major character.
Meanwhile, news drama "The Newsroom" will be premiering its third and final season on November 9 at 9 p.m. The series will be returning for a six-episode run. It was reported that "The Newsroom" was not what the channel expected when it ordered from Aaron Sorkin. The new season was supposed to have nine episodes, but as reports claim, it was cut down to six due to production issues.
Moreover, HBO is also welcoming the return of mockumentary show "The Comeback," on November 9. The show aired for a one season run back in 2005 on the same network. "The Comeback," which stars Lisa Kudrow will be reprising her role as actress Valerie Cherish.The series chronicles the adventures of a washed up celebrity as she strives to make a comeback in the entertainment industry by filming a reality TV show about her life.
In the preview released by HBO for this fall also shows a number of documentary films such as "A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY," "Banksy Does New York," "The War against Gays in Russia," and "Terror at the Mall."
HBO viewers will also get to see a number of sports specials such as "World Championship Boxing: Hopkins vs Kovalev," "World Championship Boxing: Glovkin vs Rubio," "24/7 Presents Road to Pacquiao/Algieri," and "Real Sports with Bryan Gumbel."
Also in the lineup are HBO original series "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" and "Foo Fighters Sonic Highways," as well as miniseries Olive Kitteridge, starring Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins and Bill Murray.
