"Crimson Peak," the New Film from Guillermo del Toro, is So Good it Made Tom Hiddleston Cry!

By

When a script is good enough to make an actor cry, you know it's good stuff. When a script is so good it makes Tom Hiddleston cry, it's got to be a work of genius. Few things could ever make Loki cry.

But apparently, "Crimson Peak" has. The newest film from Guillermo del Toro (the director of "Pacific Rim," "Hellboy" and "Pan's Labyrinth"), "Crimson Peak" is a horror film set to release next year, and starring Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam and MIa Wasikowska.

According to Franchise Herald, Hiddleston was sobbing as he read the screenplay for "Crimson Peak"- but not out of sadness. Because the film is so scary. Here's what he told them:

"Well, it's odd because that's how fear manifests in me. I don't know why. I can't explain it. Some people, the hairs on the back of their neck stand up, some people get the chills, some people get the shivers. I just involuntarily weep and my face was awash with tears with this one. I can't wait."

Here's an official synopsis of "Crimson Peak," which we have courtesy of Franchise Herald:

"Set in Cumbria, in a crumbling mansion in a largely rural and mountainous region of northern England in the 19th century. Young author Edith Cushing (Wasikowska) discovers that her charming new husband Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) is not who he appears to be."

Which doesn't tell us anything about who Hunnam is playing, but luckily we have a piece in Hallels to explain just who his character is. According to their sources, he's playing Dr. Alan McMichael, a character who's in love with the film's hero, played by Wasikowska.

Hunnam also told Nuke the Fridge that his character is kind of a doofus. But in a good way, it seems:

"Yeah, really different. It's kind of a very sweet, shy, quiet, dorky dude who doesn't get the girl."
