The eleventh season of "Grey's Anatomy" is about to begin, and the anticipation has never been higher.
Recently, series creator Shonda Rhimes spoke about the upcoming season, and according to Christian Post, she proclaimed that the new season will be "all about Meredith." Which would make sense, given the recent reveal of her surprise half-sister.
According to Christian Post's reports, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and her new half-sister will immediately hate each other, early on in the season. Then, as the season develops, the show will take a closer look at their relationship, and the two women may warm to one another.
Christian Today has a little more information about this surprise new character. Apparently, her name is Maggie, and she's the secret love child of Meredith's mother and another man. Apparently, Maggie will show up in the season premiere and immediately become a major part of the show, as she'll be working in the hospital alongside all the other characters.
But Meredith isn't the only character to get a shake-up this season.
Entertainment Weekly recently spoke to Rhimes about Callie and Arizona, and what the eleventh season might do to their relationship. According to Rhimes, it's nothing good:
"I'll be honest with you and say that there is literally a 50/50 chance that they'll be together or apart, and I have not figured it out yet," Rhimes said to Entertainment Weekly.
"That is the other big storyline of the season for us. We really spent a lot of time in the writers' room mapping it out and talking about it. There are two parallel relationships: Meredith and Derek's relationship and Callie and Arizona's relationship. Meredith's journey and Callie's journey are two big journeys that we really want to look at this season as we're telling these stories."
