With a successful last game and a 24-year-old stunning girlfriend by his side, life is definitely just starting for Yankees star Derek Jeter.
Now that the baseball veteran puts his career in the backburner with his retirement, rumors have started circulating that he is preparing to settle down and start a family with no less than blonde beauty and rising star Hannah Davis. But is Derek really ready to put that ring on her finger? Or is he more keen on enjoying life as a bachelor?
"Derek is not getting engaged or married anytime soon," an insider told HollywoodLife to dispel the rumors. "He is only thinking about processing that his career is over. He is looking forward to taking the next few months to be out the spotlight."
The source further shares that relaxing is all that is in the superstar's mind at the moment. Derek is also supposedly planning to start a business just like what Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan did after they retired.
Additionally, a source of New York magazine (via Pagesix.com) spills that that there are no indications that Derek is anywhere near proposing to Hannah. The 40-year-old athlete has been living in a bachelor townhouse at West Village for this game season and there are no signs of "family photos... or any sign of [girlfriend] Hannah Davis."
Marriage or no marriage, however, Hannah is at least enjoying a flourishing career at the moment. The model has appeared in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated and has also graced commercials of Direct TV (via Newsmax.com). If this continues, it wouldn't be surprising if she starts an acting career soon!
Fortunately, an interview of Jeter with sports memorabilia dealer Brandon Steiner shows that he is not entirely closed to the idea of marrying. He hinted at the possibility of pursuing marriage in the future by saying, "I was too selfish to be able to juggle a family and kids. But I look forward to it happening. I just know that I... couldn't have done it while I was playing."
The two have been dating for more than a year now. A source dishes about the pair's relationship: "They are really happy. She could be the one."
