Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr are one step closer in getting their happy ending. After a controversial rollercoaster romance, the country singer and the former American Idol contestant are finally engaged.
E! News was among the first to spill the news of Jason popping the question to Brittany during the West Coast leg of his currently running "Burn It Down" tour. While details of the proposal are yet to be revealed, the DailyMail (via TMZ) reports that the country crooner proposed during a private tour to the San Diego Zoo.
This doesn't come as a surprise for the two who have first been linked together back in September 2012 after they were caught kissing at a bar. Unlike other personalities caught hooking up, however, it was a more controversial stage in the pair's relationship with Jason still being married to then wife and mother of his two children Jessica Ussery.
While the two have been divorced since April 2013, rumors still followed him and his new beau around. Jason obviously got too tired about it, leading him to finally speak up in defense of himself and Brittany to Billboard Magazine. "It has been two years of this s-t-get over it, already!"
He further adds, "When I finally go get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I'm not trying to get in the headlines-I'm just trying to get people to stop running their mouths."
As for Brittany, the American idol alum and former NBA cheerleader shows a first look of her engagement ring via an Instagram photo showing her kissing the 37-year-old singer (via People.com). In the caption, Kerr gushed about how happy she is and described how the two of them have been "in Cloud Nine for the past few days."
"Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with this man. So many blessings and memories are in our future and SO thankful that I get to share them with him. Thanks for all the support and kind words y'all have given us."
