"Criminal Minds" welcomes in a new season with the addition of new cast, including Jennifer Love Hewitt as a recurring character and a female psychopath with temper problems.
According to Air Herald, the show's return for its 10th season presents further character development and a new plot. The American TV show, which started in 2005, takes place in Quantico, Virginia and features mostly FBI agents as characters. Joining the group will be Jennifer Love Hewitt, whose character, Kate Callahan, is another agent.
Hewitt will be the replacement for Jeane Triplehorn and will be introduced in the first episode. Hewitt starts as a recurring character after Triplehorn's Alex Blake "made a sudden exit after she was traumatized over Spencer Reid's gunshot injuries," shares Latin Post. However, nothing much will be known about her until she investigates a certain case close to her heart.
Another woman will also be joining the cast, but she will not be one of the good guys. Air Herald says that a professional and career-driven woman will be causing trouble. The character will allegedly show an emotional side and an uncontrolled rage. Ecumenical News describes the psychopathic character to have a "distinct personality" and is in her thirties. She is a notable character in BAU who have dealt with male psychopaths in the past. TV Line goes as far as describing the female as "Patrick Bateman's twin sister" who also happens to be "extremely attractive."
She will first appear in episode 9. Aside from the introduction of the psychopathic character in the episode, Ecumenical News also says that Rossi's second wife will be seen in a flashback in a 90's setting.
"Teen Wolf" star Ian Nelson will also be joining "Criminal Minds" as an "emotionally-disturbed teenager who finds himself harassed by morbid 'selfies' posted on the internet," describes Ecumenical News.
There is also a focus on the love story of Derek Morgan and Aaron Hotchner, adds Air Herald.
