Fans of "Thor" might be seeing the end of Tom Hiddleston's role as Loki in the Marvel movie's upcoming instalment.
There are several speculations that the actor may be exiting from the film franchise as he just been casted as the lead character in a new film "Skull Island" under Legendary Pictures.
According to writer Eric Eisenberg, the new role is Hiddleston's biggest role since he was tapped as Loki. "As much fun as the actor has playing Loki, I don't think many of us would be surprised if he decided to move on and pursue something bigger for himself," said the writer.
While nothing has been confirmed about Loki's fate in the movies, MoviePilot pointed out that in the comics, Thor ended up ripping Loki's head off.
Although Loki is a villain in the "Thor" films and has always caused troubles to his brother (Chris Hemsworth), the characters death might potentially disappoint many fans.
It is no doubt that the character will be appearing in "Thor 3" because of what was shown in the after credits of "Thor: The Dark World." It is also possible that Loki will appear in "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" which could be a great way to hint what the "Thor 3" storyline has to offer.
Meanwhile, Enstars speculated that Thor could finally take over the throne of Asgard in the third instalment of the movie.
In the last film, the god-superhero left to be with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) on Earth. Thor thought he left his father, Odin, on the throne but as it turned out, Loki was actually posing as the ruler. While here are still questions about the storyline of "Avengers 2," Enstars noted that after the Avengers assembling and fighting Ultron, Thor could be returning to Asgard.
Moreover, Badass Digest wrote that Hemsworth and Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, may not appear in the third instalment of "Avengers." According to the website, rumors suggest that this could be a way to keep the actors around without the need to restructure their contracts.
As Enstars mentioned, the events in both "Thor 3" and "Captain America 3" could lead to Thor and Cap taking a break and focusing on individual matters. In the case of Thor, he could be opting to stay in Asgard and deal with his family and Asgard's politics.
