Various publications have recently reported that the National Football League, NFL, has chosen Katy Perry to perform for its annual halftime show at the much awaited Super Bowl.
Recently reported by Pagesix.com, Perry has been shortlisted by the NFL alongside Coldplay and bestie, Rihanna. Although the league has insinuated that their negotiations with the performers are confidential, it is safe to say that it looks like Perry might be up for grabs at the upcoming Super Bowl.
Katy Perry slammed rumors about performers paying the NFL in order to perform during its halftime show during the Super Bowl. Perry went as far as to say on ESPN that she is not the kind of girl that would pay to perform at a show.

Beyonce and Bruno Mars have both performed at the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Last year's viewership record was broken when Bruno Mars performed on the stage with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers whereas as recording breaking 111.5 million people tuned in to watch the halftime show, which was sponsored by Pepsi. Fans are hoping to see Perry take the stage. Will Perry be able to break the viewership record? Critics are saying that the "Teenage Dream" singer will have to bring something new to the halftime show to be able to break the viewership set by Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
