Is a "Gone Girl 2" in the Works? "No, No, No," Says Star Rosamund Pike

By

Alright, this is starting to get a little ridiculous. Sure, a Marvel movie universe or a DC movie universe. Maybe even a Universal Monster movie universe, because people are desperate for these things.

But a "Gone Girl" universe? That's beyond crazy.

And yet, the words "Gone" and "Girl" and "universe" appear, in that order, in a recent piece in Fashion & Style- that claims there might be a chance of the film continuing in some kind of sequel or spin-off form.

Yes, the film has made a ton of cash at the box office (already over $78 million), and according to Fashion & Style, Fox is bandying about the idea of a sequel (although there's no source cited, so who knows how legitimate this rumor is), and so strangely enough, people are already talking about a "Gone Girl 2."

WARNING: "GONE GIRL" SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT

One such person is Rosamund Pike, who plays Ben Affleck's missing wife in the film. In speaking to Variety, she said the following:

"No, no, no," said Pike to Variety. "Only if Gillian [Flynn] wrote it. I don't like the idea of someone coming in and saying I could get my hand on these characters. The filmmakers don't even want people to know Amy is even alive at the end. People have been good about."

As well, Cinema Blend adds that a Tyler Perry spin-off is possible (Perry plays the role of a lawyer in the film), although it mostly sounds like speculation. Here's what they're suggesting:

"A Gone Girl spin-off movie that revolves around Tyler Perry's charismatic attorney, Tanner Bolt, is something that everyone who has seen the film can get behind though"

Who knows if "Gone Girl" will really get a sequel? Probably not, but in this ridiculous age of sequelitis, anything's possible.

Check back soon for the latest "Gone Girl 2" news.
