FX's "Sons of Anarchy" is in its seventh and final season- and clearly, the series wants to leave a mark before it goes out, because each passing episode is getting bloodier and bloodier.
The most recent outing, "Greensleeves," has set the Internet on fire, which contains so much gooey gory blood and guts that people can't help but vent their feelings online.
First up is Hollywood Life, who interviewed Paris Barclay (a director for "Sons of Anarchy") about a fateful eye-gouging in the most recent episode.
In case you haven't seen it, the other Sons received a care package containing the eyepatch typically worn by Bobby, a video of Bobby having his eye gouged out, and- surprse!- the eye itself.
And to capitalize on just how horrifying that is, Barclay pulled an old directing trick- not telling the actors what would happen in the scene, and letting them react for the first time on camera.
"They didn't see the video before we actually filmed the scene," said Paris to Hollywood Life. "We don't do that because they're super method actors, but just because we wanted to be filming when they actually saw it for the first time, so they could actually live in their first response to seeing Bobby having his eye gouged out. Tommy Flanagan (who plays Chibs) just broke down, and some of it is in the episode."
Fun fact: that scene from "Alien" where the baby monster eats its way through John Hurt's chest? Same deal- nobody knew it was coming.
But that wasn't the only bout of graphic violence on the most recent "Sons of Anarchy." MTV recently put out a piece speculating that Chucky is, in fact, the secret SAMCRO rat- which would give the character plenty more opportunities to make chili out of people's heads.
And yes, that is a real thing happening on "Sons"- we warned you things were getting gross.
As well, E! Online details a scene from a recent episode where Gemma tells little Abel all about how she killed Abel's mom.
There are only a few episodes left in this last season of "Sons," and we're guessing the show's only going to get grosser from here.
