"American Horror Story's" Cast Might Not Mind the Ghoulish Characters, But Twitter is Blowing Up Over Edward Mordrake

By

You might be surprised to know that the actors on "American Horror Story: Freak Show" aren't actually a bunch of costumed circus freaks. Or maybe you're not surprised, because it's a TV show and TV shows are typically composed of actors.

Either way, Salon has a new interview up with Naomi Grossman, who plays one of the series's many freaks- and she's got some interesting details to share about what it's like to become a carnival attraction for her day job.

Here's what she had to say:

"My agent and manager were concerned about my decision to go bald. They feared I would look like Pepper. I was actually slightly insulted by that! It takes two makeup artists working feverishly for three hours for me to look like Pepper!"

"I like being bald. It was really hot when we got here in July. Plus, no one knew me (yet). So I could take on this whole, new, bald persona. Which was sort of fun and empowering."

"You know, every day I get dressed and think, "Who do I want to be today?" So, lately I'm enjoying being a badass baldy! People take themselves too seriously. Especially women about their hair. I've never had more male attention than since I came here and shaved my head. I don't know if that's Nola, or my hair, or just my general swagger, but the fact is: MEN DON'T CARE."

However, while Grossman might not be too freaked out about her own character, plenty of others are losing their minds over Edward Mordrake. Huffington Post is calling the new "American Horror Story" villain Voldemort, while Decider is pointing out the Mordrake was based on a very real person who had a second face growin on the back of his head.

Gross.
