"South Park" has been on a roll this season- making fun of Ebola, Kickstarter, the Washington Redskins, Lorde and the new ride-sharing crazes like Uber and Lyft.
But this week, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have shifted their attention to an even bigger target: drone warfare. Fashion & Style has details on the newest episode of "South Park," entitled "The Magic Bush" (that's going to be the basis for so many jokes), where Cartman gets his hands on a spy drone. We're imagining that only terrible things can happen from there.
An earlier piece in Fashion & Style has a full synopsis of the episode, gleaned from Comedy Central.
"A scandalous invasion of privacy has everyone in South Park on edge when graphic video from an unknown drone is uploaded on the internet. Cartman and Butters get their hands on a drone and can't resist the urge to take it for a spin around the neighborhood."
Presumably, there'll be some kind of pop culture reference that meshes into the drone idea, as that's usually South Park's M.O. Like how, when making fun of the Uber, "South Park" transformed into a giant parody of the old cartoon "Wacky Races." Or something like "HUMANCENTIPAD."
Fashion & Style notes that there seems to be nothing in "The Magic Bush" that references Halloween, even though the episode's airing just two days before the holiday, on October 29th. Who knows if there'll be any trick 'r' treating in this one, or if Parker and Stone are taking the year off from Halloween.
The series is definitely on the uptick, though- as Pop Matters notes, the series took a little bit of a dip last year, while Parker and Stone were so busy working on "The Book of Mormon," but now South Park" is back in full force.
