YG fans have barely over a week before the debut of an upcoming act the agency has been teasing about in the past few days.
On Sunday, the record label revealed another teaser image, which is the fourth in the series. The image showed a trio made up of two females and a male artist, allkpop reports. This new "Who's Next" teaser. Just like the teasers before it, the new image did not reveal the faces of the artists, nor give any details about them.
Many fans were surprised that the third member will be male and they immediately interpret that YG's new group will be co-ed.
Last week, YG revealed the debut of their new artist in their official homepage. The announcement was made through a mysterious teaser image showing only the date "2014.11.11." and the words, "WHO'S NEXT."
This has triggered different speculations from K-pop fans.
YG, then revealed three additional teasers in the past few days, Kpop Herald reports. The first follow up teaser showed a woman in a black see-through dress, while the next one showed another woman wearing an animal print sweater with pink details. Both of the women in the teasers are holding a pack of Pepero, a brand of chocolate dipped sticks famous in Korea. However, the label says "New Unit."
The boxes of Pepero stick represent Pepero Day, which is the day of their debut. Pepero Day, is held yearly on November 11 in Korea. It is celebrated by young people by giving boxes of the chocolate dipped sticks to one another.
In the newest teaser, it showed a man in white shirt standing next to the previously teased about female artists. Kpop Herald notes that this explained the line "1+1÷1," which turned out to mean the group will consist of two women and a man.
Some people speculated that the new group could include the record label's singer Lee Hi, Akmu's vocal Lee Soo-hyun, as well their trainees Jang hana, Kim Ji-soo, and Jenny Kim.
Fans will have to wait for more teasers that YG Entertainment could reveal in the coming days.
