A 2NE1 fan recently used her YouTube account to express her reaction on the recent censorship made by a US radio station on the K-pop group's hit song, "I Am the Best." The fan, who goes by the name Azarathsflamee in the video-sharing website, believes there is nothing in the song to be censored, Allkpop reports.

The fan explained in her video which was uploaded on November 3 and taken on October 28, that the radio station bleeped out some "nae-ga" and "nee-ga" in the lyrics, while the misheard lyrics are not edited out in other places. She also noted that even in the Microsoft commercial for Surface Pro 3 tablet laptop, they did not bleep out that part of the song's chorus.

She also explained that "nae-ga" means "I" and "nee-ga" means "you." However, she pointed out that the words may sound like the foul and negative N-word.

The song "I Am the Best" was played on 103.3FM, a Boston-based radio station.

Azarathsflamee's video ended with the subtitles, "Should or shouldn't they have edited it?"

Allkpop noted that while some radio stations might decide to edit out some lyrics of Korean songs for those who do not know the language, treating such harmless words such as "naega" and "nega" as if they are bad words might lead to misinterpretation of the song and misrepresentation of the language.

The K-pop song was released over three years ago, but recently it gained attention in the American music scene after it was used in a Microsoft commercial. It has been played in many radio stations and already topped Billboard's World Digital Songs chart, Pop Dust reports.

The website, meanwhile, pointed out that it is good that 103.3FM is at least supporting 2NE1's song.

Meanwhile, 2NE1's leader and rapper CL is set to debut in the U.S. music market next year, under the guidance of Scooter Braun.
