Whenever you see celebrities divorcing in the news, everyone tends to focus on the celebrities (with good reason- they are celebrity divorces, after all). But in all that, it's easy to forget that celebs often have kids, and that those kids are usually far more damaged by the process then the two stars bickering over alimony and who gets which couch.
That's the case with Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, because while most people have been preoccupied with all the potential cheating rumors, Nick Cannon is reminding us all that the couple has two children stuck in the middle of all this nonsense.
That's what Hollywood Life reports that the actor/comedian/TV host is saying, anyway. Apparently, according to Cannon, his twin daughters Morrocan and Monroe are barely three years old, and thus not old enough to really understand what's happening between their parents.
"They just love mommy and daddy so there is nothing different for them," said Cannon.
And according to People Magazine, Cannon also stated that family is his first priority right now.
"I'm good, man," Cannon stated. "I'm great. There are a lot of people after me right now. I gotta slow it down. I'm trying to slow it down and stay focused. Family is the first thing and my kids are most important."
Later adding, "Obviously the dating thing will come down the line, but right now I'm just slowing down."
The same might go for Mariah Carey. While she recently (as reported in Mirror Online) sang the words "my love life is boring" at a recent performance, she too seems to be de-stressing the drama and trying to move towards a more amicable divorce.
According to Mirror, she reportedly told the crowd that "boring" was just part of the song, and she didn't really feel that way.
