"Longmire" Writer Confirms: Industry is Talking About Fanbase, "It's Shifting the Winds"

By

It just goes to show you: you can cancel any TV show, but you can never cancel the rabid fanbase that will cry for its uncancellation. Forever.

That's the case with "Longmire," the A&E crime drama that was cancelled for the crime of being too popular with the wrong demographics, and has since sparked a major Twitter war.

And recently, the war looks like it might actually lead to something- new episodes of "Longmire," to finally sate those Twitter-hungry masses.

The latest news comes from Enstars, who report that Lou Diamond Phillips has begun tweeting messages that seem very optimistic about the show's future.

Says Phillips:

"Might be the time of year to 'Fall Back' but not for me or the posse! Full speed ahead with Faith and Optimism! #longmirelives"

And he's not the only one. Another name involved with "Longmire" that's seemed very optimistic lately is writer Tony Tost. His Tweets are even more specific and more positive than Phillips, which is a great sign if you're one of those championing the cause for more "Longmire."

Says Tost (via Enstars):

"Whenever I have a conversation with someone in the industry, the first thing they bring up is Longmire's amazing fanbase. #LongmireLives"

And then a second Tweet:

"Please keep the faith and keep vocal and stay positive. It's making a difference. It's shifting the winds. #LongmireLives"

"Longmire" fans should feel extremely excited reading those words.

Enstars claims that if "Longmire" is able to pull through and claim a fourth season, it'll most likely air in the second half of 2015. Which makes sense, but we'll wait to see what happens, and if the show can actually grab that next season. At least the folks involved in the show seem plenty optimistic.

Check back soon for the latest news on "Longmire," and its long, hard road towards un-cancellation.
