Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will head to Memphis to face the grit and grind Grizzlies Tuesday night on November 11, 2014. The clash between two Western Conference teams will tip off at 8:00 P.M Eastern Time, FedExForum, Memphis, TN. The game can be viewed live online for free via streaming here.
Memphis (6-1) are off to a great start early in the season thanks to some impressive defense. While the team is still a bit lacking in the offensive side, they managed to get a lot of wins by playing physical, hard nosed defense. The back court duo of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph continues to propel the Grizzlies to serious contenders in the Western Conference although coach Dave Joerger believes that his team can't afford to let potential victories slip away as it fights for position in the loaded West.
"We are in the West, so every game matters whether it's in November or March," Joerger said.
The Lakers (1-5), meanwhile, managed to end its worst start in 57 years in a 107-92 victory against the young, rising Charlotte Hornets at Staples Center on Sunday.
"We got to start somewhere," said a subdued Kobe Bryant, whose team won even though he went 7 of 20 from the field per ESPN's Game Preview.
Point guard Jeremy Lin, an offseason addition to the Lakers, matched Bryant's 21 point outing of the night although he shot better than the Mamba going 8 of 12 and adding seven assists. Lin has become an offensive spark for Los Angeles scoring 39 over the past two games after totaling just 36 in the first four.
The Lakers shot 51.2 percent and held an opponent to fewer than 100 points for the first time in the season in their victory over the Hornets after allowing opponents to an average of 116.8 in the five previous matches. The team, though, remains one of the worst teams in the West and have a lot of work to do if they want to enter into playoff contention.
Memphis is the favorite in this match-up, laying -10.0 points here at home. The Total has been posted at Over/Under 197.0, per Pro Cappers.
