Big Bang to welcome 2015 with a big bang! Idol group to have their first concert of the year at Singapore’s 50th independence anniversary celebration on New Year’s Eve

K-pop group Big Bang will be performing at the upcoming MediaCorp's "Celebrate SG50 New Year's Eve soiree" as part of the Singapore's 50th year of independence. This marks the idol group's first concert in 2015, according to KpopStars.

The grand New Year's Eve event will be a star-studded and will be graced by some of the most famous local and regional artists including Rahimah Rahim, Dick Lee, Kit Chan, Sezairi, The Sam Willows and Stefanie Sun, along with a long list of TV personalities.

According to reports, Big Bang's full concert will follow after a grand eight-minute fireworks display at midnight.

"This is a show that will unite the nation as we count down together to 2015, a significant milestone in Singapore's history," said MediaCorp Managing Director for TV, Mr. Benard Lim.

Meanwhile, Big Bang members G-Dragon and Taeyang, recently released their track "Good Boy," which is their first as a subunit.

Immediately after its release on the midnight of November 21, the single claimed the top spot among major music charts in Korea. The idols' collaboration known as GD x Taeyang also became a hot topic online. The hashtag #GOODBOY became a trending topic worldwide.

The collaboration is the first of two hip hop projects previously revealed by Big Bangs record label YG Entertainment, which is the home of other idol group as such the phenomenal 2NE1.

The second hip hop project remains a mystery as YG has not yet revealed who will be the three artists to be part of it. Some fans speculate that it could be the remaining three Big Bang members TOP, Daesung, and Seungri, and it would lead to the much awaited comeback of the five-member group.

VIPs, the official fanbase of Big Bang has been expressing their desire to see the famous idol group have a comeback. Taeyang previously teased about the return of the group during his solo concert a few weeks ago.

"I'm sure that you're curious about Big Bang's new album and the other members," he said during his "2014 TAEYANG CONCERT RISE," which was attended by 12,000 fans. "We are continuing to work hard, day after day, in the studio. I can't tell you when, but we want to release a new album and good music as fast as we can."

"Please be patient until then," Taeyang said. "We've caused you worries over a couple of things, and we will repay you with a good image. We will continue to work thankful to the love that you've given us," he continued, referring to previous scandals that involved some members.
