Apple iOS 8.1.1 update fixes problems from previous versions, but may have brought new problems on connectivity, battery life, Bluetooth, and other functions itself. However, some do not experience any problem at all, making it seem like problems are isolated and not widespread.
Apple iPhone 5, along with iPad, has been experiencing several problems such as WiFi and cellular connectivity, battery life, gesture problems, email problems, home button issues, and sluggish performance on their devices since the iOS 8 update was released. One solution was to update to the latest iOS software, but according to Phones Review, even that did not solve everything.
Gotta be Mobile shares having problems with their own device, the iPhone 5. "The speed of the aging former flagship has taken a hit after Apple's iOS 8.1 upgrades and at the moment, there doesn't appear to be a permanent fix for the issue," the site revealed, calling the software "choppy."
Apple iOS 8.1.1 update has landed on Apple devices in November. Along with its arrival were improvements to previous iOS 8 versions, but according to Phones Reviews, many are not happy with the latest update so far. "Unfortunately the latest iOS 8.1.1 with fixes is a hot topic of complaints from some iPhone and iPad users," the site mentioned, despite adding that their own devices looked "fairly promising at first."
Prior to iOS 8.1.1, Apple's iOS 8 arrived with improvements from last year's iOS 7, says Gotta be Mobile. Changes included new iMessage app, Camera app, and keyboard. Apple Pay was also introduced along with improved notifications. However, bugs also came with the update, which subsequent updates including iOS 8.1.1 were expected to answer, but failed to deliver.
According to Phones Review, iOS 8 has been the subject of frustration from clients. The more common problems seem to be internet connectivity on both WiFi and cellular, and battery life. Email problems on IMAP also seemed to persist regardless of the type of internet connection. The article revealed having received thousands of comments that come on a daily basis.
Gotta be Mobile also adds, "Problems continue to plague iPhone users, something that's caused many iPhone 5 users to ask questions about the performance of Apple's latest piece of software."
Additionally, Apple's discussion board also shows users having problems with photos missing in SMS and iMessage, YouTube problems on iPhone 5S Safari, and no service.
Instead of getting their problems solved, some iPhone 5S users seem to be dealing with a new problem with Bluetooth after updating to 8.1.1, Phones Review shares.
A possible solution to these outcropping of bugs might come with the new update being developed, iOS 8.2, with beta 1 already seeded to developers.
Despite these problems, Gotta be Mobile says that iOS 8.1.1 is actually "the most stable version of iOS 8 yet," with the problems appearing to be isolated.
