There will be no more season 4 to look forward to for "Dallas" fans after executive producers Cynthia Cidre and Michael M. Robin revealed that efforts have stopped to try to shop the show to other networks following cancellation in October.

Fashion & Style reports that "Dallas" has reached its end permanently. Despite being cancelled in October, fans of the show as well as its showrunners have tried finding a new home for the series for its fourth season. Unfortunately, the #SaveDallas campaign has ended in vain.

According to Cidre and Robin's statement, as published by Dallas Decoder, "We have come to the end. After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved 'Dallas' at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded. Warner Horizon has attempted, in a Herculean way, to try and find us a new home, but at the end of the day it did not work out."

The statement also expressed the executive producers' appreciation of the support given by fans. "The #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking. We cannot fully express how much we loved making this show for you and with you," the statement reads.

Also from Cidre and Robin's statement: "We had 3 wonderful years together, and we had the times of our lives bringing this iconic show back to television. Thank you for your support, thank you for your loyalty to our wonderful characters; and thank you for watching our show."

According to Carter Matt, the show lost ratings before it was eventually cancelled, in part because of TNT's scheduling. Losing viewers may also have hindered any efforts to find a new home to the show. What complicates the process of finding a new home for the show are international and online distribution deals, explains Dallas Decoder.

Dallas Decoder shares that the petition to bring the show back reached 84,000 signatures and over 1 million tweets have been chronicled under the #SaveDallas hashtag for the campaign that started on October 4.
