Music videos from SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment artists had the most views on YouTube among all K-pop releases in 2014. The top five music videos came from the two agencies, which are known as two of the biggest record labels in South Korea, KpopStars reports.
"Hangover," Psy's collaboration with hip hop musician Snoop Dogg was the most watched according to the report. The MV of the globally famous YG artist had more than three times the number of views compared to EXO's "Overdose." In third place is EXO's label mate in SM, Girls' Generation for "Mr. Mr." EXO's "Miracle in December" also made it to the tenth place.
Both agencies had four songs in total rank on the top ten chart.
Other songs that made it in the list of most viewed K-pop videos are Taeyang's "Eyes Nose Lips," 2NE1's "Come Back Home," Hyuna's "Red," Super Junior's "Mamacita," and f(x)'s "Red Light."
According to another report, YouTube revealed on December 9 the list of the most popular videos from December 1, 2013 to November 30, 2014.
Psy's "Hangover" was released in June and only a month following its release, it already hit 100 million views. As of December 10, it already has over 164 million views.
In 2012, Psy released the phenomenal "Gangnam Style" music video, which later became the most viewed video on YouTube with record breaking 2 billion views.
It was also reported that the Korean YouTube channel that received the biggest number of subscribers in 2014 are SMTown, which is operated by SM Entertainment. This was followed by Psy and KBSWorld.
Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this month that Psy 's highly anticipated album "Daddy" will be postponed to 2015.
YG told The Fact, "As he's working on his new album, his comeback period is naturally being postponed. It's taking longer than expected to work on his new song, but he's working hard on it."
